Celebrate 150

Due to COVID-19, the Province of Manitoba has announced that all Manitoba 150 initiated events are being paused until 2021. All remaining events and activities associated with Manitoba 150 are being postponed until 2021, but funding will remain in place to support community projects and events when public health advises it is once again safe to hold large public gatherings.

Like all Manitobans, we are focused on the critical health and economic issues facing our province and country, and understand the difficult choices that have to be made.

We look forward to gathering with friends and family and being united in celebration once it is again safe to do so.

Stay safe. Stay healthy.

Thank you to all of the organizations and communities across the province who submitted their applications to Celebrate 150.

Applications closed on November 12, 2019.

Celebrate 150 is providing $1.3 million to 85 projects across the province to help communities deliver one-time, event-based initiatives in celebration of Manitoba’s 150th anniversary.

Successful initiatives will engage Manitobans, promoting ways to:

  • Discover our Beauty – Highlighting Manitoba at the centre of Canada – its heart, and its natural beauty connecting the country.
  • Meet our People – Bringing Manitobans together to celebrate, reuniting old friends and making new ones.
  • Experience our Culture – Sharing and celebrating the diversity of our province, engaging communities, learning about our roots and what unites us all. Sport, art, song, dance, food, and cultural festivals.
  • Explore our History – Reflecting on the people and stories of the territory that is now called Manitoba.
